Whisnant Appointed to Select Committee on Education
Co-Speakers Bruce Hanna and Arnie Roblan appointed Representative Gene Whisnant to two committees. Representative Whisnant will serve as Co-Chair on the House General Government and Consumer Protection Committee. He will also serve on the House Judicciary Committee.

Representative Whisnant has been reappointed to serve as a commissioner to the Education Commission of the States (ECS). The ECS is a nationwide, nonpartisan interstate compact devoted to education at all levels and work to improve education across the 50 states and U.S. territories.

Representative Whisnant also serves as the Oregon State Chair for the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). ALEC is an organization of state legislators which favors federalism and conservative public policy solutions.
