Whisnant Appointed to Select Committee on Education
House Speaker Dave Hunt appointed Representative Gene Whisnant to two interim committees. Representative Whisnant will serve as Vice Chair on the House Judiciary Committee. He will also serve on the House Consumer Protection and Government Accountability Committee.

Representative Whisnant has been reappointed to serve as a commissioner to the Education Commission of the States (ECS). The ECS is a nationwide, nonpartisan interstate compact devoted to education at all levels and work to improve education across the 50 states and U.S. territories.

Representative Whisnant also serves as the Oregon State Chair for the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). ALEC is an organization of state legislators which favors federalism and conservative public policy solutions.
